CodeJoy is thrilled to partner with Code/Art, a leading educationa non-profit organization, to bring this incredible professional development opportunity to teachers in Southwestern Pennsylvania. This workshop is a direct result of our shared commitment to empowering students and educators through accessible and engaging computer science education.
The Power of the PortraitNEW DATE ADDED: Saturday Oct. 25th 10:00am-1:00pm ET Virtual (Zoom) - join from anywhere! Benefits: Act 48 Credit Hours + $100 stipend for attending! Ready to bring art and technology together in your classroom? Join Kelsey from CodeJoy for a hands-on professional development workshop focused on a Code/Art lesson that teaches students how to create a digital self-portrait using simple JavaScript. This workshop is designed to help you engage and inspire all students, with a special focus on encouraging girls in STEM. You'll learn how to guide your students through this creative project and discover more about Code/Art's mission to increase the number of girls studying computer science. As a bonus, we'll also cover how to get your students involved in Code/Art Fest! This annual celebration in Miami brings together thousands of students, but the competition is open to everyone, no matter where you are. This session is open to all Southwestern PA teachers (in school and OOST) and is sponsored by PPG. Don't miss this opportunity to add a unique, creative coding lesson to your toolkit!
